Atlantic Records Looking for College Rep from New Orleans

It's no secret, not anymore... New Orleans hip-hop is blowing up. The 504 has always had a reputation in rap, thanks to the well-established Master P's, Juveniles and Lil' Waynes. Still, there is more music and art culture in this city then the rest of the world often recognizes. For those of you who don't know, here is a quick run-down of the not-yet but soon-to-be-famous artists and musicians coming out of New Orleans.

Established players on the scene like M.C.'s Know One, Impulss and Truth Universal. Nationally touring bands with New Orleans roots and flavor like Soul Rebels, Galactic and Trombone Shorty. Even the younger generation coming up right now shows more promise than ever. The up and coming brass bands like Da Truth, To Be Continued and the Free Agents Brass Band. College-age bands, blending the funk and jazz roots of New Orleans with the new school hip-hop vibe, like Fuego, Nomadic Souls and the Villa.

With all that talent, its not hard to see why Atlantic Records would be interested in the NOLA scene. Atlantic's artist line-up is impressive, boasting of artists such as Death Cab for Cutie, Gnarls Barkley, Lupe Fiasco, Jason Mraz, John Butler Trio, OAR, Saigon, T.I. and Twista... and so many more. Still, who wouldn't love to see one of the local New Orleans cats make it to that level? I know I would. NOLA needs more love for the music we put out; as a city, I truly believe we rival L.A. and New York, in terms of quality music.

So, the point of all this is... CALLING ALL COLLEGE STUDENTS! Atlantic Records is looking for a college student in New Orleans to bring on to their college rep team. If you are in college and interested in college credit plus the opportunities to earn prizes like exclusive record label promo material as well as trips to New York or the BET Awards, etc., send an email expressing your interest to:
